I break modernist chess up into various levels: the oldest foundations, the older past, newer past and the future.

The foundations touch on the earliest stages of board games as well as the earliest stages of the figures (and all associated which includes Kamadeva of India) of Aphrodite (Venus), Eros (Cupid and Amor) who came to be later on closely entwined with chess.

The older past deals with the Medieval and Renaissance board games and the figures of Venus and Cupid (and all associated which includes Kamadeva of India).

The Newer Past deals with chess and Modernist art and all of its varieties and associated.

The Future deals with discussion of the growing phenomena of chess and AI and business (and political issues naturally associated) and its implications for the future and how that can benefit from the earlier stages already mentioned.

This is the ongoing theme of the Blog and its categories.
